Frustration Or Celebration

“What the hell is this going on?”

“When I will be out of this situation?”

“Despite of really hard work, I had bad appraisal this year.”

“I just want to leave this company.”

Whenever I pass by the tapri (shed cum hotel in India) just outside of my company premise, I am used to hear these sentences day in day out.

People go there to have a tea, snacks, etc. (in short, hi-tea) with their friends, colleagues and they usually have discussions as such.

Though there are other topics I used to hear but they are unlikely to happen.

I have a keen observation that people used to come there just to discuss their frustration. What more it include is their personal problems, family problems, financial problems, relation issues. Even for that sake, I heard about national problems, international issues as well.

After finishing their ‘work’ at tapri, what happens?

People went back to their ‘life’ and comes back next day to discuss some other problems.

The most benefited person from all this is just that tapri owner. Actually, its none of his business but the only thing he wanted to run his business. Yes. Out of their regular habit, people usually need tea just when they are frustrated. I think, just because of these kind of people only, a simple tapriwala might be earning more than many ‘white collars’.

Do we really have so many problems in life?

If so, what do we do to solve those? Whatever we do, is that really sufficient?

In the end, why are we this much frustrated, this much negative in our life?

I think, it is just the matter of perception – how you look at those ‘problems’.

What is the real need of the time is to change the way we ‘solve’ these problems.

I found out few easy steps for this:

1.      Take your problem as challenge.

Once you change the view to look at it, it automatically lesser the burden of the same thing.

2.      Do something new to create something new.

Why you are getting the same results is because you are doing the same thing again and again. To get something different, first you need to act differently.

3.      If you want to move a mountain, start moving stones at first.

Break down your ‘big’ challenge into smaller chunks.

4.      Slow and steady wins the race.

Create the ‘milestones’ in your path of success. And celebrate once you reach each and every one of them.

5.      Appreciate the efforts you put in – however small may be.

Self-appreciation is the key to stay motivated.

6.      Take help from others.

No one is perfect in this world. So, see how someone else’s expertise could help you?

What we really need is just to change the way we look at our ‘so called’ problems.

They really are not the problems but just the checkpoints in our life to see, how well are we prepared to take next challenges?

So, next time whenever you feel frustrated; think twice and act wise.

Instead of having a cuppa of frustration, have a cuppa of celebration.

Have a happy life ahead!!
