On 'That Side' of the Table

On some occasion in class 3, looking at the dignitaries in our school function being a part of an audience from ‘this side’, dreamt myself to be on ‘that side’ of the table.

Almost 20 years passed by and I received a call from Mrs. Todkar madam, followed by an invitation later to be present as a Chief Guest for a function on 13thJanuary, 2020 to celebrate birth ceremony of Rashtramata Jijau Saheb and Swami Vivekanand ji held on 12thJanuary, 2020 in same school, Shishu Vikas Kendra, Aurangabad.

Although, it was started just as a dream, eventually turned out as a target to achieve in my life to become worth to sit on ‘that side’ of the table.

Accepting the invitation was a ‘dream comes true’ event along with responsibility of that position.

Thank you respected Mrs. Borse madam (Retired Headmaster), Mrs. Deshpande madam (Present Headmaster, Primary School) and Mrs. Kulkarni madam (Present Headmaster, High School) and my wife Bharati, it was my honor to share the dais with you ladies!

Thank you all of my childhood teachers who made me capable to reach here, make me worthy of it and make me what I am today....

Importantly, special thanks to respected Mrs. Sadhana Sable (Todkar) madam without whom this occasion would not be for me personally.
It was an immense pleasure for both of us – me and Bharati; thank you for everything, mam!

“Hey man! You have changed a lot.”

It’s been 18 years passed now to our last meet. Last evening, I met with one of my childhood close-friend. We had a great dinner and have a lot of discussion on lot many topics. We ended up saying each other, “Hey man! You have changed a lot.” Later, I relaxed myself on bed and while going asleep, this sentence caught my attention. I went into deep thoughts over this ‘you have changed a lot’. Really? Is it like, we both are not on our expectations from each other? Is it like, we are both expecting each other like that we were 18 years back? For me, I am as it is since our last meet. I see myself nothing different than that of myself in childhood. And I am sure, he also thinks same about himself. Then, what that exactly is, which made us to say each other “You have changed a lot”? Actually, we are what we were.
