Do We Really....?

Do we really see what we are looking at? Or we see what we want to see? Do we really get the meaning? Or we interpret what we want to? Do we really respond as required? Or we respond what is suitable for us? Do we really what we are? Or we are what we are supposed to be? Do we really live how we want? Or we live what is expected from us? Do we really enjoy? Or we pretend to be enjoying? Do we really live the present? Or we leave the present? - miPratik

Be My Fellow

Image
I want to grow high; I want to go higher and higher. On the way, I might make some mistakes; because, I am not a perfect man and I accept the fact. At such point of time, I need you to showcase my mistakes to me. That is helpful to keep myself on track to reach to my target faster. I appreciate your efforts to point out where am going wrong. Without you, I might not realize that I am distracted and would continue to go on some longer route. Though I realize lately, that would be at the cost of time passed by. By some means, be my fellow in my journey. Because, I not only ‘want’ you but I ‘need’ you in my life. - miPratik (pre-posted in LinkedIn post)

A Great Weekend For The Great Week

Image
A great weekend for the great week.... After a week-long of work, do have one day out. Get away from the city crowd. Have a trip to the nearby location. Have a long ride. Have a fresh air. Cool yourself. Relax your body. Relax your mind. Relax your soul. Give plenty of time to your family, friends. Chill out together. Enjoy the quality time with them. If you are solo rider, enjoying the self-company. Listen the inner you. Listen the one unheard within you. Listen the peace within you. It not only makes you relax, it also boosts you. It makes you refreshed. It makes you energized. It makes you supercharged. It makes you ready for the next challenges. Have a great week ahead. Plan for your upcoming weekend. Have a happy and safe weekend, in advance! - miPratik #miPratik #weekend #relax (pre-posted in LinkedIn post)

Informally Formal - Interview at 11

Image
I was 11 years old when I was being interviewed for the very first time in my life. Till then, I was aware about English language as that was taught in our school books and my knowledge never went beyond that. My parents thought way ahead of the time to make me superior in this foreign language. And decided to give me a proper coaching in it which was really advanced to my fellow classmates at that age. So, we went to a reputed class of English for my admission. Before let me in for the class, the teacher wanted to examine me at what level of learning I was. And it went into a very formal kind of interview. He was seated on a classic wooden old age officer style chair. He himself arranged a folding chair in front of him for me in a way that, I could see only him and my parents being seated behind me. I was expecting the questions being asked in school oral exam like English alphabets, numbers, words and at max, the spelling and their meaning in Marathi i.e.,...

Job Search: Active and Passive

Image
PC: Oleg Magni pexels.com & zoho.com Today morning, I saw an e-mail in my inbox with a thank you note and attached with a resume. Yesterday after office, I went to a nearby mall for some shopping. As I was there for very few things which would take me very little time, I did not bother to remove my ID card and continued my shopping wearing it. As this particular mall is in closest vicinity of my office, many IT employees from other companies usually walk into . Surprisingly, one person came to me. He saw my ID in parking and was little hesitant about whether to approach me or not. As he saw me in mall again, he thought to give a chance and approached me. He mention all this and I just listened thinking, why? Without delay, he introduced himself, all about his name, company, designation, experience, etc. He sounded so polite and decent; so, I thought to give some time to listen him completely. As he completed, he was waiting for my response and I made i...

An Advice On Advice

Image
‘Advising’ and ‘seeking an advice’, both requires particular skill set. Today’s topic discusses on this as ‘an advice to give advice and take advice’: It is important, from whom should we seek an advice? how? at what time and how long? and importantly, why? It is equally important to whom are we advising? about what? how? when? and very importantly, why? The right combinations of these answers is of highest important for one to lead the life on a right track; because, You are just one step away from taking a decision to change your entire life. If you are in the role of seeking an advice.. 1.      Do not be so dependent on others every time, do your homework first. 2.      If there is some scope to try first on your own, do so. Sometimes, problems solves before asking them. 3.      Before taking someone’s time, brief the person about your need. 4.      Ask him/her if he is the right person on th...

“Hey man! You have changed a lot.”

Image
It’s been 18 years passed now to our last meet. Last evening, I met with one of my childhood close-friend. We had a great dinner and have a lot of discussion on lot many topics. We ended up saying each other, “Hey man! You have changed a lot.” Later, I relaxed myself on bed and while going asleep, this sentence caught my attention. I went into deep thoughts over this ‘you have changed a lot’. Really? Is it like, we both are not on our expectations from each other? Is it like, we are both expecting each other like that we were 18 years back? For me, I am as it is since our last meet. I see myself nothing different than that of myself in childhood. And I am sure, he also thinks same about himself. Then, what that exactly is, which made us to say each other “You have changed a lot”? Actually, we are what we were. We carry ourselves as we were earlier. What really change is age and the experience that comes with it. As we grow up, we got to see every time a ...

Frustration Or Celebration

Image
“What the hell is this going on?” “When I will be out of this situation?” “Despite of really hard work, I had bad appraisal this year.” “I just want to leave this company.” Whenever I pass by the tapri (shed cum hotel in India) just outside of my company premise, I am used to hear these sentences day in day out. People go there to have a tea, snacks, etc. (in short, hi-tea) with their friends, colleagues and they usually have discussions as such. Though there are other topics I used to hear but they are unlikely to happen. I have a keen observation that people used to come there just to discuss their frustration. What more it include is their personal problems, family problems, financial problems, relation issues. Even for that sake, I heard about national problems, international issues as well. After finishing their ‘work’ at tapri, what happens? People went back to their ‘life’ and comes back next day to discuss some other problems. The most benefited...

'Being Humane' Over Just Being Human

Image
The exact thing other than physique which differentiate me being human from other animals is that, we human have created morals and ethics in our life. In absence of those, I am likely another animal. But do I really have cultivated these values within me? To the questions on ethics or morality, we are taught to answer that mentioned mostly in the books. Because, we know that we are valued only if we answer it wisely. Just to keep our value up, we answer it ‘correctly’; but are we really sure about our own behavior in actual situation? A school boy is being taught in the school not to lie. At the same time, seeing his dad, though in a very healthy condition, asking for sick leave from office over phone. What exactly is the boy learning? This happens because we are driven by our own ideas of living and our selfish motives. In 2016, UNICEF had made a social experiment with a girl standing on a road and visiting a cafe, on how people treat her when she has two different at...

Is STUPID Really A STUPID?

Image
About a person, it is not just the IQ or the academic grades only but the knowledge, skill sets, expertise and experience does matter. Instead of looking someone down, I should focus on how the person could contribute to my learning? How can I uplift myself? Through this, at the end of the day, I could learn something new everyday. Instead of judging a fish on its ability to climb a tree, my focus should be on its ability to swim. I must focus on its swimming skill so that, if I fell in the water someday somehow accidentally, I should at least survive. I need not to swim for medal in Olympic but I should be able to come up to the bank to save myself. Helping someone else from sinking would be a super thing for me. - miPratik #miPratik #stupid #IQ #knowledge #skill #experience (pre-posted 12 June 2019 in LinkedIn articles)

Don’t Count Your Chickens Before They Hatch

Image
There is a very beautiful quote by a Zen Master to his disciples: “Water is water, tree are trees and mountains are mountains.” It suggests, just see, ‘What’ is ‘What’. Following this, truly, you will getting the essence of life. It teaches you how to live in the present and live the life at its fullest. There is nothing in the past, nor in the future. Whatever is, is just right now, never ‘was’ & never ‘will be’. In our life, what we do is that, we look at the things how we want to see them, not how they are in actual exactly. We see ‘well’, ‘pond’, ‘river’, ‘sea’ but not the ‘Water’. On the same track, I would like to say, ‘Eggs are eggs & Chickens are chickens’. Future is unpredictable though we take support of astrology. It is just the result of your ‘doings’ in the present. Shree Krishna in Bhagwadgeeta guides on the theory of Karma. Whatever the Karma you do, it will be fruited in the future. Here he utters, “Karmannevadhikarasate, Ma Faleshu Kadachana.” ...
